Froth Tech wins at the BGNZ awards 2019

It was an incredible night for Froth Tech as a fledgling business attending the Brewers Guild awards for the first time. The Brewers Guild awards evening is where bronze, silver & gold medals along with best in category trophies are awarded to the most outstanding beers in Aotearoa, across a wide variety of officially recognised beer styles.

Along with the style categories there are a handful of industry awards given, and we are so very honoured to have been awarded the Morton Coutts awards for Innovation. Coutts was a great Kiwi inventor, remembered for his game changing innovation that revolutionised the global brewing industry. He is most known for his continuous fermentation method.

As the first commercial beer yeast producer in NZ we feel very humbled that the judges have recognised the innovation in our business offering, and the implications this could have for breweries and beer quality in NZ.

We really weren’t expecting to win this award this early on our business journey, but we pulled together a pun-laden speech last minute, with help from a good friend visiting from Auckland for the National Pun Championship Competition.

We’re looking forward to supplying top quality brewing yeast cultures to craft breweries around NZ, and in the spirit of Coutts, we will continue to innovate, develop new horizons in brewing & fermentation.
